100% Hand-Tufted

Depending on the technique and size of the rug, an artisan can spend weeks or months to finish a rug. All Hand-knotted rugs are by far the most intricate and labor intensive process. An experienced weaver can tie an average of 8,000-10,000 knots per day, with bigger rugs requiring up to several weavers working together on one rug at the same time. This ancient and time-honored technique is extremely time-consuming, demanding great expertise and precision that takes years of practice.

Meet the Designer

Hanne Kortegaard is a Danish furniture and decor designer. She graduated from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation, before working for several leading Danish and Swedish furniture manufacturers alongside running her own design company. She has been working at Linie Design since 2012 as Designer and Product Developer, before being given the additional title of Chief Retail and Interior Designer.

Care and Maintenance

Regular cleaning by vacuuming. Vacuum in the direction of the rug’s pile, but not with the brushes in the “out position”. To be washed flat by a professional carpet cleaner. Most new rugs “shed” and this is very normal. Excess pile should be removed from the rug as it appears. We recommend underlay to avoid discoloration.
